An impression of Russia will never be fully complete if one thinks that Russia is only Moscow and St.Petersburg. It also has numerous ancient cities and villages. In the central part of Russia, there are such magnificent places as Kholui, Khideksha, Rostov, Dunilovo and Suzdal. In the center of the varnished miniature the artist depicted Suzdal - one of the most beautiful Russian cities. Suzdal is rightfully known as a "Pearl" of the "Gold Ring". The city is approximately 1000 years old. Due to its abundance of monuments of ancient Russian architecture and art, Suzdal is considered as a “City – Museum.” In 1978, UNESCO included white-stone monuments of Suzdal as a part of the World’s Heritage composition.
